Portland law firm Rizzo Mattingly Bosworth PC is pleased to announce that Tania Manners has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Her practice will focus on personal injury and civil rights litigation.
The addition of Manners bolsters Rizzo Mattingly Bosworth’s offerings for its insurance, professional services, and individual clients. Manners brings
considerable litigation and trial experience. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in many practice areas, including personal injury,
professional malpractice, products liability, asbestos defense, real estate, civil rights, and complex litigation. She has tried multiple cases to
verdict in New York and Oregon courts.
Manners started her legal career in 2004 as a prosecutor in the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office in Monticello, New York. After practicing as
a litigation associate at a healthcare law boutique and then an international law firm, she went on to serve as Associate Counsel and Settlement Negotiator
for the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, the largest municipal hospital and healthcare system in the country. While in this role, she
successfully negotiated and settled numerous high-exposure cases.
Upon moving to Oregon in 2014, Manners worked in-house as a senior contract negotiator for Moda Health, and then as a trial attorney for Liberty Mutual
Insurance, where she defended insured parties against personal injury claims. Manners re-entered private practice in 2016 as a senior associate at
a long-established Portland law firm. There, she defended legal professionals, product manufacturers, and insureds in complex litigation.
“Tania’s diverse litigation experience, combined with her deep knowledge of the insurance and healthcare industries, will be of great value to our clients,”
said Steven Rizzo, Rizzo Mattingly Bosworth’s managing shareholder. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the firm.”
Manners received her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University in Albany, New York, where she was associate editor of the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology. She earned her B.A. with honors in biology from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York.
